NOTE: THESE ARE DECORATIVE COLUMNS WHICH BY THEMSELVES ARE NOT INTENDED FOR STRUCTURAL SUPPORT. HOWEVER THE HOLLOW CORE ALLOWS THE INSTALLATION OF WOOD OR STEEL SUPPORT POSTS INSIDE THE COLUMNS WHICH IS RELATIVELY EASY TO ACCOMPLISH IN NEW COSTRUCTION OR MAJOR REMODELING. THE COLUMNS CAN ALSO BE FILLED WITH CONCRETE TO CREATE STRUCTURAL PILLARS, BUT YOU SHOULD CONSULT AN ENGINEER OR ARCHITECT ABOUT REINFORCING THAT MAY BE REQUIRED.
WHERE A COLUMN MUST BE INSTALLED AROUND AN EXISTING STRUCTURAL POST WHICH CANNOT BE MOVED, IT IS NECCESSARY TO CREATE A SPLIT COLUMN. CLICK HERE FOR INSTALLATION INFORMATION ON SPLIT COLUMNS.
